Nexus Records

Two kinds of proof. One place to find them.

Nexus Records is the umbrella for the RMU Nexus’s public proof systems. Each record type answers a different question, and they are never mixed.

Exchange Records

The LIFE Ledger

Proof of non-fiat exchange between members: goods, services, time, gifts, in-kind contributions, and mutual aid. It records what was given and received without creating a currency, a token, a balance, or a basic income.

  • No token, no balances, no issuance, and no basic income.
  • Pseudonymous ledger addresses, public transaction records, and private details off-chain.
  • Parties set their own terms. Hours are an optional measure, not a currency.
  • Governance decisions live in a separate decision log, never in the exchange ledger.

Status: proposed for the Stage 1 pilot. No public exchange records have been published yet.

Treasury Records

Thoth Block Treasury Records

Proof of funds for programs: crypto and fiat donations, conversion receipts, food and supply purchases, and distributions. Designed for public reconciliation, with a real treasury balance that is not a member balance.

  • Each donation links to its on-chain transaction.
  • Each conversion and purchase links to a receipt hash.
  • Distributions record what went out and where — never recipient identities.
  • Full receipts stay private; redacted copies and aggregates are public.

Status: in development. Phygital Food is the first proposed pilot. No public treasury records have been published yet.

LIFE Ledger asks

Did this exchange happen?

It proves that goods, services, time, gifts, or mutual aid moved between members without turning the record into money.

Thoth Block asks

Where did the money go?

It proves that a donation arrived, was converted, was spent on supplies, and reached the program — with receipts and a treasury reconciliation.

Both ask

Can a stranger verify it?

Yes. Both are designed around append-only records, hashes, public metadata, and private payloads. Neither asks anyone to trust a spreadsheet.

Never mixed

A LIFE Ledger entry cannot become a treasury record, and a treasury balance cannot become a member balance. The LIFE Ledger records non-fiat exchange and carries no balances. Thoth Block Treasury Records track real funds and are kept in a separate namespace.

How the proof works

A stranger should not have to trust a spreadsheet.

Record

An entry is created for an exchange, donation, conversion, purchase, or distribution.

Hash

Sensitive details stay off-chain. A hash and the public metadata are written to the append-only record.

Publish

The public transaction record, aggregate totals, and reconciliation are published for anyone to inspect.

Verify

A stranger can check the transaction link, the receipt hash, and the totals — without seeing a recipient’s identity.

What is live, and what is proposed

  • LIFE Ledger: proposed for the Stage 1 pilot with 20–50 members in one locality. No token, no balances, no currency claim.
  • Thoth Block Treasury Records: in development, with Phygital Food as the first proposed pilot. Donations, conversions, purchases, and distributions will be publicly reconcilable.
  • Shared rule: both record types are designed to be append-only, hash-linked, consent-based, and exportable. Neither is an investment, and neither promises a return.
